What happens in a soccer book

A soccer book from Inkling puts your child on the field in their own team colors and number: the warm-up, the nerves before kick-off, the pass that set up the goal, the high fives after the final whistle. It can be about a real season, a championship game, or a first practice where nobody knows the rules yet. Coaches, teammates, siblings on the sideline and the grandparent who never misses a game can all be in it, drawn from photos. Use a real team name or make one up, and tell us whether your child is a striker, a defender or the goalkeeper who dives for everything.

How a book like this might begin

Mateo pulled on his green jersey, number nine, and laced up his boots twice to make sure. On the sideline, Coach Ana clapped her hands. “Big game today,” she said. “Remember: pass, move, and have fun.”

The whistle blew. The ball bounced and rolled and skidded across the wet grass, and for a long time nobody scored. Then, with one minute left, Mateo saw his friend Lucy wide open near the goal. He did not shoot. He passed.

An example. Every book is written fresh for your child, so yours will be its own story.

Details that make it theirs

  • Team name, colors and their jersey number
  • Their position: striker, midfielder, defender or goalkeeper
  • Coach and teammates’ names
  • Who cheers on the sideline
  • A real game or moment from their season

When families give it

Soccer books are given at the end of the season, by coaches to every player on the team, for a soccer-themed birthday, or to celebrate a first season. Families with more than one player can put siblings on the same team or on rival teams for one friendly match.

Printed books ship in about 8–15 business days, so order about three weeks ahead. You can read it on screen the moment it is made.

Questions

Can it use our real team colors and number?

Yes. Tell us the colors and number and your child wears them on every page.

Can a coach order one for each player?

Yes. Each player’s book is made separately with their own name and photo, so every child is the star of their own copy.

Do I need a photo?

No. A name is enough to start. A photo helps the illustrations look like your child.

Can I change the story?

Yes. You read every page before you order and can change any page you like.

What does it cost?

Free to make and preview. A hardcover is $45 with the eBook included, and a printed booklet about $21, US shipping included, for a standard 24-page book.

How long does it take to arrive?

You can read it online in minutes. Printed copies arrive in about 8–15 business days with standard US shipping; our delivered US orders so far took 8 to 13 days. Faster shipping is offered at checkout.

What if it arrives damaged?

We reprint it free. Your photos are never used to train AI.
