Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of inklingbook.com (the "Service"), operated by Inkling. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to them. You must be at least 18 to use the Service.

Your account

Keep your login secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

The content you upload

You keep ownership of the photos and ideas you upload. You grant us a limited license to use them only to provide the Service (generate, store, print, and let you edit your book). You represent that you have all rights and consents needed for everything you upload, including photos of any identifiable person and of any child (you are their parent/guardian or have permission). You agree to indemnify Inkling against claims arising from content you upload.

The book you create

Subject to your payment and these Terms, the finished book and its illustrations are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use (printing copies for your family, gifting, and personal sharing). Please contact us if you'd like commercial-use rights. Because the illustrations are AI-generated, their copyright status may be uncertain, and we make no guarantee that AI-generated images are protectable.

Acceptable use & prohibited content

Only upload photos you have the right and consent to use.
Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual, exploitative, or harmful content involving minors. We report such content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
No illegal, hateful, harassing, infringing, or deceptive content; no attempts to disrupt or abuse the Service.

AI-generated content

Inkling uses AI to write and illustrate. Output quality and likeness vary and are not guaranteed — characters may not perfectly match a photo. Content is provided "as is"; please review it before sharing with a child.

Credits, pricing & payment

The Service runs on prepaid credits spent on generation and printing. Prices and credit costs may change. Payments are processed by Stripe. Credits already spent are non-refundable; see our Refund Policy. New accounts may receive welcome credits to make a first book.

Printing & shipping

Printed books are produced and shipped by our print partner (Lulu). See Shipping and Refunds.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inkling's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Inkling is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. We'll try to resolve disputes informally first — email hello@inklingbook.com.

Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use means you accept the changes.
